India's gross GST revenue up 14.8% on year to nearly Rs 2 lakh crore in August

- Domestic GST revenue grew 9.3% to over Rs 1.37 lakh crore, while revenue from imports increased 29% to Rs 62,604 crore, driving the month's performance.
- Total GST refunds climbed 67.9% year-on-year to Rs 31,795 crore during August; factoring in this surge, total Net GST revenue reached Rs 1.68 lakh crore, an 8.3% increase.
- Central GST collection stood at Rs 38,413 crore, State GST reached Rs 46,316 crore, and Integrated GST exceeded Rs 1.15 lakh crore during the month.
- The 57th Meeting of the GST Council is scheduled for September 12, 2026, in New Delhi, with an Officers' Meeting preceding the session on September 11.
