NEW DELHI, INDIA, JUL 30 – India and the UAE agreed to expand military training, joint manufacturing, and maritime security cooperation, including co-developing next-generation technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
- On July 30, 2025, India and the United Arab Emirates co-chaired the 13th JDCC in New Delhi, agreeing to 'elevate defence ties' to match growing regional momentum.
- Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and UAE Under Secretary Lt General Ibrahim Nasser M. Al Alawi co-chaired the July 28, 2025, Secretary-level JDCC meeting, where they agreed to 'elevate defence ties' according to a release by the Ministry of Defence.
- Delegations explored opportunities in shipbuilding, refits, platform maintenance, and discussed co-developing next-generation defence technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, during the JDCC meeting.
- Following the JDCC agreements, India committed to provide customised training modules for UAE forces, and both sides agreed to enhance maritime security collaboration via real-time information sharing.
- Building on those agreements, the UAE delegation will meet Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on July 31 and participate in the 2nd India-UAE Defence Industry Partnership Forum, boosting strategic ties.
