- Following the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, prompting the first airspace ban.
- The Pakistan Airports Authority said the ban on Indian carriers would last until 5:19 am IST on August 24, 2025, while India issued a NOTAM for a major IAF exercise from July 23 to 25 in Rajasthan.
- About 800 weekly Indian flights have been rerouted, and Air India estimates this will cost about $600 million annually.
