Pant-Astic! Rishabh Pant Just Hit a Test Milestone No Indian Reached Before
Pant reached the milestone in his 51st Test, becoming the fastest player to 100 sixes and joining three others on the all-time list.
On Monday, Indian batter Rishabh Pant became the first from his country to smash 100 sixes in Test cricket, achieving the milestone during a rapid half-century on Day 4 of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
In just 51 Tests, Pant reached the fastest 100 Test sixes, surpassing the previous record held by former England skipper Ben Stokes, who reached the milestone in his 82nd Test.
Pant joined an elite group of four players globally to achieve the feat, with Stokes at 138, Brendon McCullum at 107, and Adam Gilchrist at 100.
Virender Sehwag previously held the Indian record with 91 sixes, while Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja follow with 88 and 82 sixes respectively.
Pant reached the milestone by pulling a delivery over long leg during his 20th Test fifty, having earlier equalled West Indies batter Chris Gayle's record of 98 sixes in the first innings.
