The amount of exploration drilling in Kazakhstan may amount to about 80 boreholes in 2026 and grow up to 120 wells annually in 2027-2028, as reported by the Vice-Minister of Energy, Erlan Akbarov, at the Kazdrilling Conference in Atyrau. "Increased drilling is necessary to open up new deposits and replenish the country's resource base", quoted the Ministry of Energy press service Aqbarov.
