A massive wildfire tore through 4,000 hectares of land in southern France on Tuesday, destroying homes and leaving two people injured, including one in critical condition, according to local authorities. Officials say the region’s growing vulnerability to wildfires is linked to drought and the loss of firebreaks like vineyards.
A fire of exceptional intensity in the Corbières massif, in the south of France, caused on Tuesday two wounded, one of them seriously, and ravaged in a few hours 4000 hectares of vegetation.
