In Białowieża, tree felling is planned to enable the reconstruction and widening of several streets. 195 maples, oaks, hornbeams, limes and other species are to be removed. The cuts concern the Natura 2000 area on the border with the Białowieża National Park — reports "Gazeta Wyborcza". According to experts, the undertaking may threaten local flora and fauna.
