IMF Recommends Measures to Angola to Diversify the Economy

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recommends that Angola, in order to achieve diversification of its economy, improve its infrastructures, measures to develop human capital and eliminate barriers to private sector access to credit. The decline in oil revenues in 2023 "the critical need to diversify the economy in Angola", stressed economists Carmen Yiptong and Zwiad Zedginidze, in an analysis published to match a mission from the Water Fund.

When 25% of GDP and 60% of tax revenue come from the oil sector, the IMF recommends investment in the agricultural and infrastructure sector, as well as increased training to meet the deficit of competences.
