Why Does Vinnie Jones Think King Charles Shouldn't Be on the Throne?
Actor and former footballer Vinnie Jones has questioned King Charles's accession to the throne, arguing that Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, should have taken over the monarchy following Queen Elizabeth's death.
Divorced individuals were barred from marrying into the Royal Family until 2002, a tradition Jones believes should have been upheld to prevent Charles from marrying Queen Camilla and becoming king.
Speaking on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Jones lamented that "they moved the goalpost" for Charles and Camilla, noting both were previously married to other spouses.
"I was hoping that he would have done the right thing and said, 'Thank you very much. We're going to step aside,'" Jones said, declaring his support for William and Kate.
The former Wimbledon midfielder, who stars as gamekeeper Geoff Seacombe in Guy Ritchie's Netflix series The Gentlemen, emphasized his status as a "massive royalist" despite his criticisms of the current monarch.
