Spectacular Royal Jewellery Spanning 500 Years to Go on Show at Palace
The show will feature more than 300 pieces, with around two thirds displayed publicly for the first time.
The Royal Collection Trust announced an unprecedented exhibition of 500 years of British royal jewellery opening June 25, 2027, at The King's Gallery, Buckingham Palace, featuring over 300 pieces.
Co-Curators Caroline de Guitaut and Kathryn Jones stated the exhibition explores 'love and loss, power and politics, family and faith' across five centuries, with two-thirds of the 300 items appearing publicly for the first time.
Displays include the 1820 Diamond Diadem and Queen Victoria's 1870 Small Diamond Crown, plus cufflinks said to have been worn by King Charles I at his 1649 execution. The Crown Jewels remain at the Tower of London.
Royal Collection Trust e-newsletter subscribers can purchase tickets starting Wednesday, October 28, 2026, with general public sales beginning Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The exhibition runs nine months until March 19, 2028.
Featuring items from monarchs including Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth II, the collection offers personal insights into relationships that shaped the monarchy across generations. This follows 'Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style' shown earlier this year.
Among the most outstanding pieces is the diamond diadem of George IV, and the small diamond crown of Queen Victoria, who decorated her coffin during her fiery chapel
