SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has extended its Electric Vehicle (EV) Rebate Program application deadline from January 31, 2026, to May 31, 2026, Acting Director James Jennings announced.

Despite the expiration of the federal EV tax credits, Illinois has extended this year's deadline for rebate applications to give residents a $4,000 rebate on the purchase of a new or used electric vehicle.
