Brasilia, 19 Jul (Prensa Latina) The National Archives of Brazil warned about the increase in the illegal sale of historical documents belonging to the public acquis, a practice that, according to the institution, today represents a serious threat to the preservation of national memory. In the last three years, at least ten cases of illegal sale of Brazilian historical documents in auctions have been identified by the National Archives. According to the federal body responsible for the custody of this documentation, this type of criminal trade has been growing recently in the country. Therefore, the National Archives is setting up a specific sector to deal with these occurrences and ensure the recovery of these documents.
