- On Thursday, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission submitted an interim report to President Bola Tinubu on the fictitious Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council , revealing two additional fake agencies created by the suspect.
- Investigators found that Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew forged government documents and broke into office facilities to impersonate a federal official, exploiting verification weaknesses to secure seven official number plates from the Federal Road Safety Corps .
- The FRSC admitted issuing the plates after being misled by Adeyemi, while the State House explicitly denied any involvement, rejecting fabricated documents that purportedly listed President Tinubu and senior officials as council members.
- ICPC Chairman Musa Adamu Aliyu recommended prosecuting Adeyemi for forgery and impersonation, while urging administrative sanctions against public officers whose negligence facilitated the illegal operations.
- The commission urged institutional reforms to strengthen internal controls across Ministries, Departments and Agencies , as investigations remain ongoing to identify collaborators and file comprehensive criminal charges.
