- On Wednesday, Fania Records announced Eddie Palmieri died at age 88, with his daughter Gabriela Palmieri saying he passed at his New Jersey home after an extended illness.
- Eddie Palmieri grew up in Spanish Harlem, where he was influenced by his brother Charlie Palmieri, `the true king of the keyboards`.
