I-57 to close Oct. 5 for demolition of Stiritz Road bridge

CARBONDALE — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that both directions of Interstate 57 will be closed between exit 65 and exit 59 in Williamson and Franklin counties starting at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5.

I-57 Closing Sunday Night for Stiritz Road Bridge Demolition

JOHNSTON CITY – IDOT says both directions of I-57 between Johnston City and West Frankfort will be closed starting Sunday night at 7 for demolition of the Stiritz Road bridge over I-57. Illinois 37 in both directions will be used as a detour to help you get around the work zone. All lanes are scheduled to reopen at 7 Monday morning.
