Family Was at Home when Husband Allegedly Murdered Brisbane Nurse: Police
Shane Scheikowski faces murder and unlawful entry charges after his wife, nurse Carra Samantha Luke, was fatally stabbed at their Brisbane home on August 23.
On Aug. 23, Carra Samantha Luke, 48, was found dead in her Taigum home after an apparent stabbing, and her husband, Shane Scheikowski, 52, was charged with murder and entering dwelling with intent, due in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Aug. 25.
Queensland data show a heavy domestic violence caseload with 19,658 offenders in 2023-24, prompting reforms including a GPS monitoring trial for 150 domestic violence offenders from July 1 and new police protection powers.
