- The government of Jamaica declared a disaster area as roads were blocked and flooding hit many parishes; up to 90% of roofs in Black River were destroyed, and four main coastal hospitals evacuated 75 patients.
- Aid agencies report slow access, and hurricane warnings remained in effect early Thursday for the Bahamas and Bermuda, with Alexander Pendry saying, `News is already coming through that whole communities are underwater and that the damage left by the strong winds has been devastating.
