Huntersville Fire Dept. says "serious crash" tied up traffic for hours on I-77

MECKLENBURG CO., N.C. – Lanes started to re-open on I-77 in northern Mecklenburg County around 9PM Wednesday after what Huntersville Fire is calling a “very serious” crash. It happened around 6:30 on the southbound side of the interstate, before Gilead Road. Our crew saw a motorcycle and other vehicles that appeared to be involved. MEDIC responded, but did not take anyone to the hospital.
