For meat from the laboratory no animals have to be killed. Nevertheless, the production and sale in Hungary is now taboo. Because the cell culture meat is incompatible with Hungarian tradition and culture.

The veto will apply to all products developed from animal cells and tissues, but not to vegans that replace meat and are made from vegetables.

In Italy, Viktor Orban's country also bans animal products from stem cells from the menu. The reason for this is similar in both EU countries and has to do with "soil" and "identity".
