Statesboro Council adopts FY26 budget, approves Fire Station 3 contract, honors life-saving trio

The Statesboro City Council adopted the FY2026 budget, approved a $4.8 million contract for Fire Station 3, and finalized several annual service agreements funded by Hotel/Motel tax proceeds during its June 17 meeting. The Council also recognized three public safety personnel with Life Saving Awards and heard updates from the city manager on annexation disputes, public safety transitions, and economic development initiatives.
