Hundreds of kindergarten teachers across the country announced this morning (Friday) that they are taking sick leave in protest of the Ministry of Finance's decision to cut their salaries. The kindergarten teachers took the step in an attempt to circumvent the injunction issued by the regional court.

In protest following the Ministry of Finance's order to cut the salaries of kindergarten teachers, dozens of kindergarten teachers announced that they would not report to work due to illness. Although no official call for a strike by the Teachers' Union has been issued, it appears that hundreds of children will not go to kindergarten this morning.

In recent hours, many parents across the country have been receiving messages from kindergartens that the kindergarten will not open tomorrow. "In response to the sharp cut in our salaries - 3.3% that simply fell on us without warning, we are not coming to work and are on legal sick days."
