Dozens of people were stuck in their cars for hours when heavy rains swept across Highway 1 between Jökulsárlón and Skaftafell yesterday. Rescue teams arrived to help about two hundred people. A rescue team member praised travelers who had to stay in their cars for extended periods in difficult conditions.
