Huge planters in Rochdale streets set on fire hours after installation

Summary by Ground News
Traffic filters were set alight in Deeplish and Milkstone area of Rochdale. They were put in place as part of an active neighbourhood trial in the area. The trial was launched on February 6 with the aim of encouraging use of public transport, walking and cycling, as well as making the area safer for children. But just hours after these were installed videos were shared showing vehicles driving on the pavement to go around them. Emergency services were called after some were forcibly removed from the road. The council has now announced that the trial has been paused. A further consultation will now take place to 'consider next steps'
