The six-part series returns with new celebrity guests and same-day Producer’s Cuts on CBC Gem.
- CBC's unscripted series The Assembly returns for a second season on Nov 1 at 9 p.m. on CBC and CBC Gem, featuring new celebrity guests including The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis, Marie-Philip Poulin, and Lights.
- Following a successful first season, the series won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction, three Telly Awards, and a Golden Sheaf Award, prompting its return from Vancouver-based Small Army Entertainment.
- More than 30 neurodivergent and autistic adults serve as interviewers, asking celebrities direct, unpredictable questions; the format, adapted from the French program Les Rencontres, prioritizes authentic conversations over promotional talking points.
- Executive Stephen Sawchuk promised the season will deliver more "heart, humour and authentic conversations," while special extended "Cuts" release on CBC Gem the same day starting at 9 a.m.
- International expansion highlights the show's global appeal, with countries including Australia and Spain now featuring their own versions of the format adapted from France.
