Huawei Kirin 9050 Pro revives flagship chip launches with reported LogicFolding architecture in Mate XT 2
The tri-fold phone adds a new Kirin 9050 Pro chip, 42% higher performance, and hardware-level privacy features, Huawei said.
- On Monday, Huawei unveiled the Mate XT2, its second-generation tri-fold smartphone powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chip. The wing-like design opens from both sides, advancing the company's foldable innovation.
- The handset features the Xuanwu Ultra-Durable Tri-Fold Architecture and The Advanced Precision Hinge System 2.0 for reliable pressure resistance. Its camera ring, crafted from Yttrium Crystal, forms 33 star diamond facets through eight polishing steps.
- HarmonyOS 7 powers the device with Live-Multitask features for large screens and Pangu 30B-A2B MoE LLM integration. Overall performance improves by 42% compared to the previous generation through The LinxiCore CPU and The Maleoon GPU.
- The True-to-Color Camera 3.0 system improves color reproduction by 95% compared to the previous generation. Video recording achieves 18 EV dynamic range, while XMAGE SmartCapture provides AI-driven composition recommendations for various scenes.
- Sales begin this coming week on Saturday, September 12, at 10:08 AM China time. The device incorporates The Mobile Security Processor and ECG analysis software, providing hardware-level data protection and health monitoring capabilities.
