Green Party's Atte Harjanne refuses Helsinki deputy mayorship, focuses on duties as MP and councillor

Harjanne considers the position the Greens have received excellent, but says that as an MP he will focus on climate, nature and security policy.

Green MP Atte Harjanne says in an interview with HS that he will not run for deputy mayor of Helsinki. Green MP and city councilor Atte Harjanne says in an interview with Helsingin Sanomat and in a Facebook post that he intends to continue as a member of parliament. – After careful consideration, I have decided to continue as a member of parliament and work for Helsinki in roles other than as deputy mayor, Harjanne writes in the post.

Atte Harjanne, who was the mayoral candidate for the Greens, announced on Tuesday that he would rather continue working as a member of parliament.

Harjanne was a vote-getter for the Greens in the municipal elections. The party is about to get the position of deputy mayor for education and training in Helsinki.
