The top White House economic adviser said Sunday that President Trump is threatening to slap tariffs on some of the nation's biggest allies because he is not happy with the direction of ongoing trade talks.
US President Donald Trump will want to "squeeze" as much as possible out of negotiations with trading partners. The offers so far have not seemed good enough to him to agree to them. In an interview with ABC News, White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said this. He added that if the offers do not improve, the announced tariffs will come into effect on August 1.
