Spring is here up in Northwest Georgia and so are the white bass (Morone chrysops). A smaller cousin to the very popular gamefish the striped bass (Morone saxatilis), maxing out at about 5lbs with the more common catch being in the 1/2lb to 2lb size range. They are silvery fish with several faint horizontal stripes on the side, with only one tooth patch on the tongue. These fish are one of the first signs of the coming spring on the Coosa River.…
