The House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party issued a statement on Thursday (September 25) saying that the chairman of the select committee, Republican Congressman John Mullenauer of Michigan, wrote to Philadelphia Mayor Cheryl Parker this week, asking for the cancellation of "the official ceremony of raising the five-star red flag of the Communist Party of China."
