Hotel Fire Horror as People Trapped Inside at Popular Tourist Spot
On Thursday, a massive fire broke out at the JA Plus Hotel in Pattaya, Thailand, prompting emergency services to deploy crews as tourists evacuated the building.
Pattaya, located 60 miles from Bangkok in the Chonburi coastal region, is a major tourist destination that has recently struggled with crime, earning the moniker 'Sin City'.
All 178 rooms at the hotel were occupied at the time, and the Pattaya Mail described the evacuation as chaotic, with four people injured including one man burned over approximately 20 per cent of his body.
Firefighters battled the flames while social media users noted the "wind is very strong" in Pattaya, which may have intensified the blaze throughout the property.
Authorities are investigating the fire's cause while conducting structural safety inspections and damage assessments expected to continue through the night as rescue operations secure the property.
More than 200 guests were evacuated from a hotel in the Thai resort town of Pattaya last night after a fire broke out on the roof. Hundreds of tourists fled outside through smoke-filled corridors.
