Woman charged with homicide after remains of her 4 infants found in Pennsylvania house
Jessica Mauthe faces multiple charges after hiding four infant bodies in her rental home with no medical care or reporting of births, officials said.
- Pennsylvania State Police arrested Jessica Marie Mauthe, 39, after a landlord called police to her Cadogan Township home, the action reported on September 21, 2025.
- After evicting her on Aug. 14, landlord Brent Flanigan returned last month and found a foul odor and a decomposing infant in a trash bag inside the house on Oak Avenue.
- According to the criminal complaint, Mauthe told police she gave birth three times at the home, wrapped each newborn in towels, placed them in plastic garbage bags, and stashed them in tote bags and a bedroom closet at the Oak Avenue home and the attic.
- She was charged with multiple felonies and Mauthe is jailed without bail at the Armstrong County Jail, due back Monday with a preliminary hearing next week; her two living children, ages 6 and 8, are with extended family.
- Investigators will comb through her medical records and interview friends, colleagues and husband Jacob Mauthe, imprisoned after a guilty plea last year, while neighbors said her support system was minimal.
