- On Tuesday in Ayodhya, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced an honorarium hike to Rs 12,000 for Anganwadi workers and Rs 6,000 for helpers, alongside a cashless healthcare scheme of Rs 5 lakh.
- Anganwadi workers and helpers play a critical role at the village level implementing government nutrition and child development programs, working closely with children, pregnant women, and mothers to provide essential health support.
- Their duties include providing pre-school education and maintaining birth and nutrition records, while coordinating with ASHA workers during vaccination drives and conducting village-level awareness activities on sanitation and maternal health.
- During the event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed sarees and appointment letters to newly recruited personnel, then visited Hanumangarhi and Ram Mandir with Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra , the first CEO of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
- These measures represent a significant benefit for thousands of frontline workers involved in maternal and child welfare services across Uttar Pradesh, strengthening implementation of critical public health and nutrition initiatives.

The revised structure raises the monthly honorarium for Anganwadi workers from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000, while Anganwadi helpers will now receive Rs 6,000 instead of Rs 4,000. The UP government has also announced cashless healthcare coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh for both workers and helpers.
In a program organized in Ayodhya, CM Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to the newly appointed Anganwadi workers and helpers. On the eve of full stop Nutrition Month, he announced 4 schemes including honorarium hike, health cover of Rs 5 lakh, increase in the number of sarees and facility of smartphone.
According to Women and Child Welfare Minister Baby Rani Maurya, 71,310 Anganwadi workers and assistants have been recruited in the state. These include 21,804 Anganwadi workers and 49,506 assistants.
