- Investigators traced the threats to Tyagi by examining Gmail accounts linked to his mobile number following a June 29 security alert that impacted multiple agencies including the Defence Research and Development Organisation , Ministry of Civil Aviation , and Nuclear Power Corporation of India .
- On June 30, a special team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Arshdeep Singh Panwar and Sub-Inspector Subhash apprehended Tyagi at Sanyog Nagar Bank Colony and confiscated his electronic device.
- Bengaluru City Police stated that Tyagi has suffered from mental illness since 2008 and is undergoing treatment; no explosives were recovered from his possession during the search.
- Meanwhile, a second, unrelated hoax email targeted ISRO Headquarters on Friday, with Bengaluru Police confirming that a different individual sent this threat, which triggered immediate security inspections.
