History of The First National Bank of Augusta - Butler County Times-Gazette

The First National Bank was organized in the early part of 1902 and opened on May 5, 1902, with a capital stock of $10,000. Deposits totaled $3,285.22 and their total resources were $13,285.52. The officers were J. H. Butts, President, W. H. Anderson, Cashier and W. A. Penley, bookkeeper. Their growth was slow but steady until resources reached about $1,000,000 during the oil boom.
