HIGH SCHOOL FIELD HOCKEY: Kogut’s goal returns Spartans to state title game

LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. – In the Class B high school field hockey state semifinals on Saturday afternoon, the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans defeated Section VIII’s Garden City, 1-0, at Arlington High School. Grace Kogut scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Quinn Stowell-Melley on a penalty corner. The Spartans play for the chance to repeat as state champions against Section IV’s Vestal on Sunday at 12:30 in the title match.
