Hazing claim related to death of Bucknell football player survives motion to dismiss

WILLIAMSPORT — A claim hazing as defined by state law was a factor in the 2024 death of a Bucknell University football player may be pursued, a federal judge says. That was the ruling Friday by U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann when he denied most of Bucknell’s motion to dismiss the suit Calvin Dickey Sr. and his wife Nicole filed on behalf of themselves and the estate of their son Calvin Jr. who went by CJ.
