SPRINGFIELD — A Hampden County jury has convicted a man of repeatedly raping a child over a two-year period, sending him to state prison for up to 13 years for his crimes.Benito Roman, 57, formerly of Springfield, was convicted July 2 of aggravated rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and two counts of witness intimidation, Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni said in a statement Monday.
