The U.S. Navy has signed with Boeing a contract worth 61,2 million dollars for the purchase of High Altitude Anti-Submarine Warfare Weapon Capability (HAAWC) systems for Mk 54 torpedoes. The HAAWC, allowing the launch from high altitude to about 30,000 feet from the P-8A Poseidon planes, increase the range of the torpedo, transforming it into a long range weapon, and will be used on the Mod.0 and Mod.1 versions of the Mk 54 torpedoes....
