The attack killed 15 civilians including the village head and five forest guards, prompting calls for urgent military reinforcement to address rising insecurity in Kwara State.
At least 12 forest guards were killed in an attack by gunmen in Oke-Ode, a community in Nigeria's northcentral state of Kwara.
