The Supreme Court of Guinea announced the provisional list of candidates selected for the next presidential election on the evening of Saturday, 8 November. Seven of them stand under the banner of a political party. The other two - including the president of the transition, Mamadi Doumbouya - will participate in it independently. Some 30 cases have been rejected.
In the absence, on the list, of tenors like the ex-Prime Minister in exile Cellou Dalein Diallo, the opposition will eventually be able to count on candidate Faya Lansana Milimono, known for his diatribes against the junta.
