Group works to promote ‘pro-life safety net’ to care for abortion-vulnerable moms
Her PLAN says expanded community support could help 660,000 additional babies live each year by meeting the needs that drive abortion decisions.
On Wednesday, the fourth anniversary of the Supreme Court's Dobbs v. Jackson decision overturning Roe v. Wade, Her PLAN highlighted its "pro-life safety net" designed to support expectant mothers.
Executive Director of Her PLAN Autumn Christensen told The Center Square that the organization's founding framework addresses specific needs—like food, housing, and counseling—that drive women to seek abortion.
Of the over 1.1 million annual abortions, 60% of women said they would choose life with more support; Christensen explained this could save an estimated 660,000 babies annually.
Pathways, a new initiative, equips Americans with step-by-step models for serving women and babies in their communities, such as hosting local car maintenance days for those in need.
Christensen alleged that the "abortion industry" profits from isolation, but she maintains that providing practical support allows everyone a place to help mothers thrive in Post-Dobbs America.
