Manufacturing expands as domestic demand drives growth, PMI shows
Greece’s manufacturing sector continued its expansion in May, driven by a solid rise in new orders and accelerated output growth, despite challenges from weak export demand, a survey from S&P Global has shown.
The seasonally adjusted S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for the manufacturing sector in Greece closed at 53.2 points in May, unchanged from the April reading. According to S&P Global, “the May figures indicated an extension of the current period of continuous growth, which began in February 2023.
