Journalist arbitrarily convicted in Greece hopes to be acquitted on appeal

French-Canadian journalist Romain Chauvet, former correspondent of the Balkans Courier in Athens, was sentenced in October 2023 to six months' suspended imprisonment for "disseminating false information." Reporters Without Borders (RSF) calls on the Athens Court of Appeal, which meets on 27 March, to release the reporter on the basis of an almost empty file.
