GRAND FORKS — A late start to Monday's game wasn't a problem for the Grand Forks Spitfires. The Spitfires started an hour later than scheduled due to temperatures pushing 100 degrees in Grand Forks. Yet, the Spitfires wasted no timing firing up the offense. Grand Forks scored five runs in the first inning and rode the hot start to an 8-4 win over the La Crosse Steam in Northwoods League softball at Albrecht Field.
