GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State University Athletics mourns the loss of Lee Fobbs Jr. Fobbs graduated from GSU in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education. During his time at Grambling State, he earned all SWAC and All-America honors as a senior under the direction of legendary Eddie G. Robinson. Lee Fobbs, who played for Eddie Robinson and won a Celebration Bowl as an assistant coach with his son Broderick at Grambling, died Saturday at 75 years old, according to a report by KSLA 12 News Sports Director Chris Demirdijan. Fobbs played for Robinson during the first two of five straight SWAC titles in 1971 and 1972, including a Black College National Championship in ’72.
