Hungarian civil servant loses parts of both hands after grenade explodes in her hand during training
During a voluntary military exercise for Hungarian government employees at the Újdörög training center in western Hungary near Lake Balaton on Friday, a young woman lost parts of both her hands when a grenade exploded in her hand. The soldier leading the exercise was also injured.
The young woman was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition on Friday from the Hungarian Armed Forces' training ground in Újdörögd, where training was being held for government officials.
The training was organized for government officials by the Hungarian Defence Forces.
Major General Zoltán Somogyi said that the government official lost both hands.
