Governor Ron DeSantis promulgated on April 1 the HB 991 law in Florida, which strengthens the verification of citizenship status in driving licenses. The measure seeks to underpin the electoral system and will enter into full force on January 1, 2027. Residents will not be required to process a new document immediately, as the change will be applied progressively in each renewal.
