- At Governor Abbott’s direction, emergency management officials collaborated with a coalition of 12 agencies—including the Texas National Guard and Texas A&M services—to ready response teams, activate shelters, and coordinate with utility providers in anticipation of potential power outages and storm-related damage.
- Governor Abbott announced that Texas is prepared to utilize all available resources to assist residents as intense weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and the risk of flash floods, affect the region, and he reminded everyone to "Turn Around, Don't Drown."
