Goodbye, autotune: Can the rattling and sour music make a comeback?

A few weeks ago, a rare musical duo was seen on the live Netflix talk show Everybody’s Live: On stage were Kim Gordon and Kim Deal – both bassists and occasional vocalists in Sonic Youth and the Pixies, two of the most influential bands of the 80s and 90s, respectively. The two “Kims” had previously released the song “Little Trouble Girl” together in 1995, but this was the first time they had performed it together on stage.
