Goalie fight breaks out between Florida's Sergei Bobrovsky and San Jose’s Alex Nedeljkovic
- Early in the third period in Sunrise, Fla., a goalie fight broke out with 14 minutes left between Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky and San Jose Sharks goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic.
- A scrum to the right of the San Jose net began when Sharks defenseman Vincent Desharnais upended Panthers forward Mackie Samoskevich, then Evan Rodrigues leveled Desharnais, prompting Nedeljkovic to join the melee.
- Nedeljkovic's mask came off first as both goalies tried to land right hands, Bobrovsky's mask was ripped later before he skated the length of the ice and Nedeljkovic landed on top.
- Both goalies were assessed five-minute fighting majors and two-minute minors for leaving the crease at the 6:00 mark of the third while the Sharks led 3-1, and Bobrovsky returned to cheers.
- It is believed to be the first goalie-on-goalie fight in Sharks history, and Bobrovsky has backstopped the NHL's southernmost team to consecutive Stanley Cup championships, while Nedeljkovic stopped 28 of 29 shots.
